1. Brad Paisley, Alison Krauss - Whiskey Lullaby

To say that “Whiskey Lullaby” was a huge success for Brad Paisley would be an understatement. Recorded as a duet with Alison Krauss in 2004, “Whiskey Lullaby” is one of four of Paisley’s songs to be certified 2x Platinum.

The lyrics of “Whiskey Lullaby” tell the story of a couple that are both heartbroken after a bad breakup. The first verse is told from the man’s perspective (Brad Paisley,) the second from the woman’s (Alison Krauss.) In the song, the man is so sick over the breakup that he drinks himself to death. The woman feels guilty over this, and subsequently drinks herself to death as well.
